Jason Pettus is a civil litigation defense attorney with a strong litigation background through the representation of general contractors, subcontractors, owners, and design professionals in the resolution of all manner of construction issues, including construction/design defect claims, environmental claims and contractual disputes, catastrophic injury, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents in both state and federal courts, as well as insurance coverage analysis, advisement of clients, and coverage litigation.

Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Jason graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. He also studied Marketing and Political Science. After college, Jason attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham. Alabama from where he graduated in 2004. While at Cumberland, Jason earned a Dean's Merit Scholarship and was selected to serve as a Caruthers Teaching Fellow.

Jason is a member of the Atlanta Claims Association and the Georgia Defense Lawyer’s Association. Jason served as the 2010-2011 Chairperson for the Georgia Defense Lawyer Association’s Construction Subcommittee. Jason has drafted and presented several articles and presentations for newsletters and seminars, including Arbitration v. Litigation: Finding a Dispute Resolution Solution that Works for Your Business, Hot Topics in Construction Law (2005), The Supreme Court Fails to "Clean Up" the Confusion Concerning Clean Water Act Jurisdiction In the Long Awaited Cases United States v. Rapanos and Carabell v. United States, and Cleaning Up the Mess: How to Defend Clean Water Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Claims.

Jason enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, who teaches 5th grade at St. Thomas More in Decatur, Georgia. Jason also enjoys golf and University of Tennessee athletics. He is also Pit Boss of "Butt Your Honor" competition barbecue team.
